2010-2011 First Day Leucadia Campus
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year. We are looking forward to many
events at A Children’s Garden this year. Below you will find a short list of things that may be helpful on the first
day of school.
Things to bring: (EVERYTHING SHOULD ALWAYS BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH THE CHILD'S NAME.)
Items
to be labeled with child’s name:
1. Lunch in a lunch box.
2. At least one change of clothing.
3. Diapers
if needed, along with wipes. Please send an entire package.
4. You will also need a wooden wicker basket. Please choose
a natural color wicker basket. No cloth baskets. You may want to see samples at school before you bring yours in. (Don’t
label the basket. We will make name tags)
5. A family photo 4x6 and child’s photo 4x6.
6. White child size
t-shirt.

1. package of Crayola washable markers
2. 3 bottles
of glue
3. 3 bottles of liquid hand soap
4. box of colored pencils
5. ream of copy paper
6. 3 boxes of
band aids
If your child will be taking a nap, please bring a check ($25.00) to pay for bedding for the year.
Your child will receive his own rollie pollie which will go home with you at the end of each week. If you already have one
from last year, you do not need to purchase another one.
If this is your child’s first time in school we
recommend having your child only stay until 10:00 am for the first few visits to transition. Parents may stay the first day
until 9:30am. We will serve coffee and you can meet the other Children's Garden parents. Then, depending on the child, leave
and come back at either 10:00 am or 12:30pm. The first week of school will be an adjustment period for your child. We do not
recommend coming during the summer to adjust and aquaint the child with the program as it is a different format. Sometime
in late September there will be a parent orientation meeting in the evening for parents only.
